Physical characteristics of Guinea
Brief overview:
From a forgotten colony, Guinea has become one of the most controversial African states under the name of the Republic of Guinea. A small country of 245,857 km², Guinea extends in an arc from the Atlantic Ocean. It is surrounded by Guinea Bissau, Senegal, Senegal, Mali, Mali, Ivory Coast, Liberia and Sierra Leone. An artificial creation arising from the competition between the two main colonial powers, France and Great Britain, it brings together well-differentiated and largely complementary natural regions whose geographical and human characteristics constitute a kind of microcosm of West Africa.
