DIWASI Park Wildlife Conservation Project
In West Africa, protected areas are under constantly increasing anthropogenic pressures. Far from being spared by this phenomenon, Eastern Guinea is seeing its natural environment deteriorate day after day.
However, there is still an almost intact area: the DIWASI Park (104,000 ha). Located in the western part of the Kankan Nature Reserve (535,000 ha), and with the only fully protected area (ZIP) (60,000 ha) of this same Reserve, it is proving to be the preferred subject of studies directly linked to the good management of its ecosystem.
It also follows naturally that the interest of such studies is only valid because of their regularities and rigors because the effective management of an ecological system requires constant monitoring of its main determinants.
