Climate Change Adaptation Policy Framework
Adaptation is a process by which individuals, communities, and countries seek to deal with the consequences of climate change. The adjustment process is not new. On the other hand, the idea of integrating future climate risk into policy-making is new. While our understanding of climate change and its potential impacts has improved, the availability of practical guidance on adapting to climate change has not evolved as rapidly. The development of the Adaptation Policy Framework (CPA) was done with the intention of providing the process of developing rapidly evolving adaptation policies with a clear “road map” that it currently lacks. Finally, the aim of the CPA is to support adaptation processes aimed at protecting and improving the well-being of human populations in the face of climate change.
