Among all the facies that make up the vegetable mosaic of each village soil in the Kissidougou region, there is one ecosystem that requires everyone's attention: the peri-village forest.

These village forests represent small, well-defined entities, suitable for carrying out a detailed inventory. Located in the immediate vicinity of villages, they constitute extremely rich and complex biomes of individuals, spaces of influence and multiple relationships. Each inhabitant is directly responsible for some or all of it, as an individual or as a member of the village community.
