The Toolkit: Enhancing Our Heritage is the result of over seven years of efforts to “learn by working” in the field and represents an important cooperation between the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, IUCN and our partners. It was developed by a small team of motivated specialists, with the critical and enthusiastic participation of the managers of nine World Heritage properties located around the world. The field experience of this group ensured that the Toolkit would be rooted in practical realities and that it would meet the expectations of the users for whom it was intended.
