The objective of this document is to offer managers of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in West Africa a guide for the development of their management plans. It was developed following a workshop on MPA management plans in West Africa organized in Senegal from 27 April to 2 May 2008 with the technical and financial support of the Banc d'Arguin International Foundation (FIBA) within the framework of the Regional Programme for the Conservation of Marine and Coastal Zone in West Africa (PRCM) within the framework of the Regional Programme for the Conservation of Marine and Coastal Zone in West Africa (PRCM).
