The Permanent Authorized Operators Workshop was launched as part of the preparation of the future activities of the Regional Watersheds Programme of Upper Niger and Upper Gambia of the second phase of the Programme. The “Authorized Operators” (OPA) concept aims at the dissemination of technical models developed and tested during the first phase of the Programme by autonomous bodies (NGOs, private companies, individuals, etc.) as implementing agents of the Programme. By bringing together representatives of the Kankan, Kissidougou, Labé and Dabola Projects, the permanent workshop
was intended to serve for the common understanding of the “Authorized Operators” concept, for the approval of framework contracts and the procedures for the establishment and approval of operators.
