Niokolo-Badiar Project: Research Report
This study is part of a research program started in 1995 as part of the Niokolo-Badiar Project, which is part, as a more recent component, of the Regional Program for the Management of Upper Niger and Upper Gambia Watersheds, financed by the EU from funds from the 6th EDF.
The general objectives of the PRABV are based on the recommendations contained in the memoranda of understanding of the conventions approved at the international level (Lomé Convention, Convention on Desertification, Convention on Biodiversity, etc...).
One of the fundamental principles of these conventions is that ways must be found to enable people to sustainably use biodiversity for conservation to achieve its goals; this is why they refer to “the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity”.
